Beginning to research Bitcoin can be overwhelming, there is so much information to sift through. I began by looking at bitcoin.org to find the original paper by Satoshi Nakamoto Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System. From there I went to other sources looking up various news articles and viewing the bitcointalk forum and Bitcoin subreddit. After gaining a better understanding of how Bitcoin works from these sources I wanted to find some more academic sources and found Bitcoin: A Primer for Policymakers by Jerry Brito and Andrea Castillo from the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. I then found that a few papers on Bitcoin were submitted to the Financial Cryptography and Data Security 2014 conference. I recently read Andreas Antonopolous’ early release of his book Mastering Bitcoin. As you can see there is a vast amount of information on Bitcoin, for an even more in depth look at research in digital currencies go to the Resources page on this site.
